Jessa Schroetter is a third-year law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, with a career focus on criminal defense and family law. She brings a background in criminal justice research, highlighted by her role as a research assistant for the Violence Prevention Project, an initiative committed to meaningful criminal justice reform. Jessa earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and forensic psychology with honors.

She had the honor of serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Matthew Schmidt, where she gained extensive hands-on legal experience in the First Judicial District. She also served as a board member of the Trial Advocacy Club at Mitchell Hamline. She volunteers at MH Pro Se Clinic, providing legal support to community members without access to representation.

Jessa is a Certified Student Attorney and, through her work at North Star Criminal Defense, she assists clients with a variety of criminal justice and family law matters. Her experience includes expungements, divorces, custody issues, appellate matters, and the full spectrum of criminal justice concerns.
